Bret and Heather 78th DarkHorse Podcast Livestream: The Good People Game

0 Просмотры
In this 78th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we discuss the state of the world through an evolutionary lens. In this episode, we discuss the recent dispute between Joe Rogan and Anthony Fauci, as to whether a healthy 21 year old should be advised to get a Covid vaccine. We discuss the invocation of “experts” to tell us what we should do, and who those experts are. We review charts from the CDC and The Economist to assess risks to people in various age cohorts. We discuss new research from the Salk Institute which finds that the spike protein of SARS-CoV2 is sufficient on its own to cause damage to the lungs and arteries occur in a model animal. We also discuss which drugs we are expected to take without question, and which ones we are told to be wary of. We also discuss Absolute Risk Reduction vs. Relative Risk Reduction and the mRNA vaccines.

Switching gears, we talk about a threat this week on the life of Portland mayor Ted Wheeler, by anonymous anarchists. VP Harris says she does not think that America is a racist country; meanwhile, the AP makes odd claims about race. Finally, we revel in nature a bit: the annual bird migration to northern breeding grounds throughout North America, lungless salamanders making burrows near our home in Portland, and in the Columbia River Gorge, a juvenile rattlesnake hiding under a rock, and a raven capturing, killing, and eating a gopher snake.
